Essay

The doctoral thesis is devoted to the solution of scientific and engineering problem of efficiency improvement of methane content monitoring in mine weather in order to prevent accidents and injuries connected with methane presence in coal mines. The conception of labour safety improving in coal mines according to gas content has been suggested and it has been shown, that methane content monitoring in mine weather is one of the most important conditions for firedamp explosion and mineworkers' asphyxia prevention. The criteria of gas situations danger have been determined, which are formed in mine workings, as well as variety of regularities of methane release processes, the rea-sonability of forecasting of the importance of such processes and gas situations has been proved. The methods have been worked out, which are aimed at methane content monitoring in mine weather accuracy, efficiency and trustworthiness increase, as well as decrease of methanometer's breakdown and extension of information field concerning gas situation in coal mines. The results of research work have been introduced in normative documents and technical equipment, which provide labour safety improving in coal mines according to gas content.
