3. This research suggests comprehensive analyses of structural, semantic, cognitive and communicative properties of a complex sentence. The dissertation investigates the constructive models of hypotaxis, hierarchic clausal organization in the terms of X-Bar Theory, argument-predicative structure of a clause as the component of a complex sentence. Suggests a new approach to studying diversity of gender patterns in complex syntactic structures . Main clause and subordinate clauses are viewed as a trajector and a landmark with the latter giving more or less prominence to figure inside the frame.
