The dissertation is devoted to the study of theoretical, methodological and practical issues of enterprise competitiveness development in the existing competitiveness generating environment.The basic definitions of the competition, the competitive environment and competitive advantage, market competition factors and competitiveness at different levels of its study were improved. The approaches related to the management of enterprises competitiveness development process were also defined.A methodological approach was suggested to determine the quantitative evaluation of the company competitiveness level, which takes into account the dynamic change of the competitiveness generating environment.The state of the world and domestic markets of beet sugar was analysed. All systemised key trends altogether with the problems of enterprises’ competitiveness were identified; the possible ways for the further development of the environment that forms the competitiveness were considered correspondingly. The experience, key trends, challenges and features of the integration processes in the production of sugar were defined as well. The appropriateness of the cluster approach was clarified; the simulation model of cluster interaction for predicting changes of efficiency within the interconnected enterprises is recommended together with the optimization model of raw area of the sugar factory and the mechanism of price improving relationships between members of the cluster through the components of competitiveness generating environment.Keywords: competition, environment that forms competitiveness, competitiveness, development strategy, cluster structure, reengineering, raw area, enterprise, sugar industry.
