The thesis is devoted to the solution of one of the areas of the pertinent scientific problem of increasing the effectiveness of diagnostic, therapeutic and preventive measures in children with functional diseases of the intestine. There were analyzed monitoring data and selective clinical and epidemiologi-cal studies of prevalence and patterns of these pathologies in Ukraine. There was analyzed the frequency of gastrointestinal pathology in children with FBD. Detailed analysis the feasibility of application of anorectal manometry for the differential diagnosis of FBD was conducted. It is shown that for pa-tients with functional bowel syndrome is inherent increase vegetative reac-tiveness, imbalance serotoninergic system, which shows a decrease in seroto-nin content in blood serum and a decrease in urinary metabolites of melato-nin. The dependence violations of motor-evacuation function of the intestine in children with FBD the nature of power and the level of emotional stress. It is proved that the presence of polymorphisms of genes SLC6A4 and COMT increases the risk of IBS, but is not associated with other FBD. The algorithm differentiated treatment depending on the severity in children with functional bowel disease showed sufficient clinical efficacy in all forms of FBD and allowed to improve the quality of life of patients and reduce the frequency of relapses.
