The dissertation focuses on studying the history of the bandura art of the Ukrainian diaspora in Eurasia, America and Australia in the 20th - early 21st сenturies. Its specific nature has been traced at the time and chronological, spatial and geographic, social and cultural, organological, performing, composing, educational and methodical, creative and psychological, social and communicative levels. The individual and collective achievements of bandurists in composing and performance activities have been singled out. The activity of diaspora masters, functioning of bandura societies, centrеs, schools have been investigated. The research emphasizes the continuity of educational and creative processes at all historical stages of the Ukrainian diaspora artistic existence. In conditions of ideological contradictions of the 20th century, the bandura art of the Ukrainian diaspora community cultivated traditional ways of music playing, national heroic-epic repertoire, preserved and cherished Kharkiv manner of performing and appropriate types of instruments.
