The place of labor productivity in the governmental economy policy has beeninvestigated in this paper, macro economic core of this index has been studied, as well as its place within the system of indices of economic productivity; the methodological bases of definition and the calculation of the labor productivity on the macro level. Methodological provisions concerning the forecasting of the indices-regulators of the labor productivity have been worked out using the items of the governmental influence (including the factor pattern of forecasting) and they have been tested during the forecasting of the labor productivity for the average period.
