Essay

It is studied abstact groups and permutation groups realized as isometry groups of metric spaces with natural restrictions such that uniformely discrete spaces, spaces with bounded diameter an so on. It is characterized isometry groups of spaces obtained after transition from given spaces to spaces constructed on their cartesian product or generelizations of given spaces on infinite dimensional case. To study isometry groups of metric spaces the technique of metric transforms is used.
