The thesis focuses on topical theoretical and practical problems of legal regulation of occupational safety in Ukraine. The dissertation provides general legal description of the institute of labor occupational safety, defines its place among other institutions of labor law, investigates the mechanism of legal regulation of occupational safety and its elements, as well as legal entities in the field of occupational safety. Areas for improvement of contemporary issues on the theoretical and practical level in a relevant field are analyzed. Determined that the proper condition to ensure safety and avoid high injury at work, in modern terms, is possible only through the creation of appropriate legal mechanism for the protection and safety of human rights, including the right to a healthy and safe working conditions, taking into account trends in accident situations, study various aspects of health and safety. Stated that the occupational safety as an institution of labor law is a set of rules aimed at realization of the constitutional right of citizens to work and ensure safe and health working conditions of employees, as the rules of supervision and control over observance of legislation on health and safety, and rules establishing liability for its violation. It was found that the reduction of cases of harm to the health of workers should be paid special attention to compliance with the requirements for safety, enhance control over it by the employer and the state and codify rules concerning duties of employees in health and safety. Based on the research formulated concrete proposals for improving the legislation of Ukraine in the field of occupational safety.
