The theses under discussion presents the comprehensive investigation of the phenomenon of the Ancient Greek Philosophy of Law as an ideological bases of the Ukrainian Philosophy and Law. The paper determines the philosophical and theoretical principles of the complex interaction between the Hellenic Philosophy of Law, the Roman Law and the Christian Ethics which are considered to be the major methodological sources of the European Law (including the Ukrainian Law), taking into consideration their similarity, the latter having arosen due to their kindred axiological and ontological basis. The investigation under discussion performs a profound analysis of such notions as the State and the Law in the philosophical and law studies before Socrates, as well as within the Ancient Greek Philosophy in the times of Socrates.
