Essay

In dissertation for the first time comprehensively and systematically analyzed the patriotic historical memoir heritage as a source of the history of the national liberation struggle in Ukraine in 1914-1921. Classified source and historiographical material of Ukrainian memoirist of revolutionary era. Attention is drawn to the personal context of the formation of the complex of the patriotic memoirs about the events of the Ukrainian revolution, personal motivation to write memoirs. Analyzes the main directions of Ukrainian memoirs: republican-democratic (the period of Ukrainian People's Republic), conservative-political (Hetman period) and the period of West Ukrainian People's Republic, showed their specificity. Source base of work is sufficient to solve the problems stated of research. To illuminate this problem used the toolbox and categorical apparatus of the humanities. Including productivity observed theoretical developments of modern scientists: V. Verstyuk, M. Litvin, R. Pirog, A. Reent, V. Soldatenko, M. Stopchak. In conjunction with the general methods of historical knowledge they allowed to disclose the stated problem.
