The thesis offers a new approach to studying the language personality of a political leader in American and Ukrainian linguistic cultures from the perspectives of comparative linguistic personology; represents the frame structure of the concepts POLITICIAN and ПОЛІТИК which is modeled in American and Ukrainian political discourse; reconstructs the associative portrait of a political leader reflected in the language consciousness of Americans and Ukrainians; uncovers the mechanisms of conceptual metaphors serving as figurative components of the concepts POLITICIAN and ПОЛІТИК structure; defines dominant strategies and tactics in the speeches of American and Ukrainian political leaders; characterizes genre and discursive realization of communicative traits of the language personality; proves the influence of presupposition on the discursive status of the language personality.
