Essay

Object – the processes, phenomena, interactions, which define structure, strength, durability and destruction of the soil containing materials, concrete and reinforced concrete in presence of the excess electric charges of the Earth.Objective – create a theory of excessive electric charges of the Earth, their influence on the soils, materials, constructions and structures, provisions for stability under conditions of such charges accumulation, development of methods for protection and extension of service life of the materials, constructions and structures based on the theory.Methods – analytical, physics and mechanics, physics and chemical, mathematics, statistics.Novelty – the theoretical knowledge about influence of the excessive electric charges of changes in properties of the soil containing materials and concretes. There are reasons discovered for degradation of strength and durability of the materials in the constructions and structures which are operated under conditions of presence of excessive electric charges. A knowledge developed about provisions for strength of the soil containing materials, concrete and reinforced concrete under conditions of influence of the excessive electric charges. There are methods developed to avoid destruction of the structures under conditions of the excessive electric charges.Results – there is developed and implemented a composition with a modifying agent and a process for creation of the soil containing materials which ensure durability under condition of excessive electric charges and electric fields of the Earth. A method for protection against destructive action of the excessive electric charge is developed and implemented which supposes installation of the protective shunt made of steel strip.Area of application – design, construction, rehabilitation and restoration of the engineering structures and constructions in railways of Ukraine and other countries.
