Essay

Object: age-related cataract. Goal: to increase eyesight quality among patients with pseudophakia after phacoemulsification of age-related cataract due to minimization of aberration errors by enhancement of intraocular lens (IOL) construction that is being implanted, and by optimization of surgical treatment based on experimental clinical studies. Methods: physical aberrometry, statistical, determination of eyesight and spatial contrast sensitivity, biometry of anterior part of eye using scheimpflug-camera, optical coherent tomography using Visante OCT and Stratus OCT-300 and aberromrtry of wave front using Wave Scan. Drawbacks of intraocular correction based on factor that influence the result of surgical treatment were detected. New IOL SL-907 Centrix DZ was designed with its experimental and clinical approbation in comparison with other IOL models as well as new methods of fixation to eye structures. Data about genesis of aberration after implementation of spherical and aspherical lenses were updated. Influence of pseudoexfoliation syndrome on induction of aberration and its epidemiology in Ukraine were studied. Results of the thesis were introduced in OCH of Kyiv, main military clinical hospital, Lugansk regional center of eye diseases, Odesa MKH №4, KLPS Chernihiv regional hospital. Area of application: medicine, ophthalmology.
