Golovashchenko S. Biblical Studies in the Kiev Theological Academy (the 19th and early 20th centuries): Evolvement and Development

For the first time in the Ukrainian academic research, this dissertation reconstructs the biblical studies at the Kiev Theological Academy in the 19th and early 20th centuries, examining it as a holistic system of academic studies and teaching and as an integral component of theological academic culture. It reviews the prerequisites, the historical, cultural, educational and religious context, and the ideological and institutional factors that contributed to the evolvement of the KThA during the period in question with regard to both academic and popular discourses in the study and exploration of the Bible.
