Object of study: socio-economic processes and organizational conditions to ensure agricultural production in private farms. Purpose: development of theoretical and methodological principles, and develop practical recommendations for the effective functioning of private farms. Methods: axiomatic, abstract and logical, monographic, balance, SWOT-analysis, mathematical and cognitive modeling. Scientific novelty: for the first time proved the theoretical and methodological principles of functioning of private farms and their role in shaping the food security of Ukraine on the principles of commodity production developed theoretical principles of operation of private farms under the provisions quotient-rotary concept of economic development; The theoretical bases for determining the nature of economic and social functioning of private farms, method of calculation of the efficiency of agricultural production in private farms, classification of private farms.
