The dissertation is the first comprehensive, systemic and conceptual research of Turkish authorial drama in Ukrainian Oriental Studies, which shows its origin and formation, reveals the relations with traditions of the national theatre, explores the phenomenon of postmodern drama and the variety of its transformations in the XXI century. The paper highlights the process of establishment of Turkish drama, determines basic stages of its development and offers a reasonable and original periodization. A thesis clearly demonstrates the main tendencies of the genesis of an authorial drama. The research uses cultural and historical analysis method among the diversity of others, as it allows to clearly delineate aesthetic features of the Turkish drama in the context of the world dramaturgy. It has been discovered that Turkish dramaturgy has ancient origins. The folk performances with shamans, sacred rituals of Sufi orders, plays, ceremonies, and chants can be considered as sources of a future Turkish drama. Political and cultural reforms of the XVIII century have become one of the first reasons of the emersion of Western elements in Turkish classical literature and theatre, which have further resulted in a nascency of new literature genres. At the beginning of its existence, the Turkish authorial drama was influenced by Western models of creation, and at the same time, new literary trends were being developed. The national drama was renovated at the beginning of the sixties in the XX century. The epic drama begins to evolve rapidly under the influence of Brecht's dramaturgy. September events of 1980 became a starting point of political and cultural changes that have provoked a literature to become "blocked". The Turkish drama of the beginning of ХХІ century (B. Ak, R. Bilhiner, G. Yshyk, B. Mikail, M. Munhan and others) is marked with the complication of the internal structure of works and usage of techniques of postmodern writing. The main feature of the thesis is a multidimensional analysis of factual materials of Turkish dramaturgy, which shows its thorough characteristics, a wide range of interplays and liaisons with the world literature. The significance of the dissertation lies in the analysis of playwriters' works, which represent all of the major trends in a Turkish dramaturgy. The dissertation also includes the analysis of Sufi's "texts" in a Turkish drama, its symbolism, the deep cultural roots of biographical drama, and a female drama as a feministic conception of the postmodern stylistics. The thesis reveals the nature of the Western influence on the works of Turkish artists, a socio-cultural tendency of research of the national identity, and a vivid intertextual poetics of "Istanbul's" texts. The study allowed to outline the main genres of Turkish authorial drama and identify key trends in the works of prominent representatives, such as the formation of the national spirit, the art reception of pre-Islamic and Ottoman traditionsin order to return to its roots, the focus on the "Me-Others" opposition, etc.; analyze forms (adaptation, translation, reminiscences) of transferring the experience of European drama (Moliere, Brecht) to the Turkish soil (A. Haidar Bey, Pasha V., M. Sh. Feraizdzhizade); illustrate an intertextual nature of a Turkish drama of the second half of the ХХ - beginningofthe ХХІ century (M.Baydur, N. Dzhumaly, M. Munhan), highlight the features of the assimilated intertext (biography, mythology, classical Turkish poetry, culture, tradition); characterize Turkish postmodern drama as a cultural reflection, critical reassessment of national culture; trace the role of social and political factors in the development of the genre of historical and biographical drama; describe the key images of the Turkish drama of the second half of the XX - beginning of the XXI century.
