Essay

The dissertation is concerned with the syntax of the poetical discourse. This research has been done on the material of the Jewish liturgical poetry II-VIII centuries written in two sub-dialects of Middle Aramaic language - the Literary Jewish Aramaic and the Literary Jewish Palestinian Aramaic. A connection between the main paradigms of functioning of the syntactic constructions in a poetical text and other discourse means - architectonics, rhythmic structure and phonetic devices have been investigated. The main character features of the functioning of the syntactic constructions in two types of versification - the archaic syntactically-oriented models and those which do not have any syntactic standards - have been analyzed in the dissertation. The detailed investigation of the poetical syntax of Middle Aramaic has been carried out. In this research the main factors which influenced the choice of the syntactic construction in the poems irrespective of a type of versification: the genre specificities of the discourse (narrative, dialogical, hymnological, meditative, rhetorical, prophetic); the communicative context (predictable reaction of the audience and the scheme of communication addresser - addressee causes some peculiarities of the sentence structure in poetry); rhythmic structure of a poetical line (influences a size and segmentation of the sentence).
