Essay

The thesis is devoted to pathogenetic concept of dental pathology and development of prevention and treatment of dental diseases in patients with diabetes. Conducted epidemiological studies revealed high prevalence of major dental diseases in patients with diabetes. Conducted study of structural and metabolic changes in the oral cavity tissues, liver, blood serum in dynamics of diabetes of 1 and 2 type revealed the mechanisms of oral cavity tissues lesions. On the basis of experimental and clinical studies proved that the main causes of complications development in oral cavity with diabetes is dysbiosis, increased free radical oxidation of lipids, reduction of nonspecific immunity due to the development of hyperglycemia. Received data of experimental research allowed to examine some aspects of the pathogenesis of oral tissues lesions and substantiate the correction of violations. Prophylactic use in experiment of bioflavonoids drugs consisting of oral gels in models of diabetes type 1 and 2 reduced the degree of dysbiosis, reduce free radical oxidation of lipids and increase activity of antioxidant enzymes and lysozyme in tissues of oral cavity and blood serum. Efficiency of pathogenetic concepts developed for prevention and treatment of dental disease in patients with diabetes proved by clinical and laboratory (biochemical, biophysical) studies for 6 and 12 months after treatment.
