The dissertation is devoted to examination of trends of private and public interests in the labor field, whereby defining the conceptual approaches to improving the work safety doctrine and legal mechanism of creating the safe and healthy working conditions. Also the work identify and analyze trends of labor protection legislation, establish the compliance of the legislation of Ukraine to the requirements of the European Union legislation, here are also the recommendations and proposals for further improvements and changes in the current legislation. It's investigated the legal nature of work safety as a social and legal phenomenon. The concept of work safety has been studied in broad and narrow sense by his much-essential features. It's identified and analyzed the trends of centralized (state) law regulation of labor, such as: 1) the approximation of national legislation on work safety to international and European standards in the field of safety, occupational health and the working environment by unifying the terms and concepts; 2) greening of the work safety standards; 3) development of work safety regulations under the influence of decent work conception; 4) improving the legal provisions on honor, dignity and business reputation of the employee within the work safety institute; 5) development of standards in the field of work safety to support businesses (micro, small and medium enterprises); 6) the development of provisions for standardization in the field of safe and healthy working conditions; 7) strengthening the role of collective bargaining regulation of labor relations on health;
