The оbject of research: electromechanical processes in power systems. The purpose of research: development of the control theory of power systems in terms of ensuring their stability and damping of electromechanical oscillations, improving the dynamic properties of power systems and power connections based on the development of fundamentally new structures of excitation control systems of synchronous machines (ECS SM). Methods of research: methods of applied system theory, stability analysis of power systems, fuzzy logic, neural networks, least squares method, back propagation of error, theory of function of complex variables, Wirtinger calculation, gradient methods of searching for local extremum of control errors and others. Theoretical and practical results and innovations: Theoretical and practical results and innovations: new ECS SM structures, including an automatic excitation controller with a calculated channel of power stabilization, a field- and indistinct power stabilizer and an automatic excitation controller behind the phase vector of the stator voltage, are developed. Computer models of new structures ECS SM and algorithms of their functioning together with the results of bench tests provide the possibility for preparation to serial production. The technique for tuning and selection of the coefficients of the field- and fuzzy power stabilizer, allowing its qualitative adjustment in operating conditions, is developed. A new approach to improve the dynamic properties of power systems, providing for the elimination of delay in the formation of the output signal of the ECS SM power stabilizers, is substantiated. The theory of synthesis of automatic control systems for power systems to improve their dynamic and robust properties, is developed. A new approach to the ECS SM synthesis behind the phase vector of the stator voltage, which takes into account the dependence of the gain on the stator voltage deviation on the increment of the rotor angle, is developed. The concept of constructing a centralized control system for power stabilizers, which justified based on the results of mathematical modeling of the 6-machine test circuit modes, is developed. A subject degree of introduction: in the form of justifications, recommendations, structural and algorithmic solutions of software and hardware for control cabinets of excitation systems were introduced in the Scientific and Production Enterprise (NPP) "Transformer-Complex" (sity Zaporizhzhya). Effectiveness of implantation: the production and use of the developed ECS SM in the power system of Ukraine will help to increase its stability, improve the dynamic properties and prevent the development of systemic accidents (blackouts). Sphere of use: power system.
