Essay

The thesis is dedicated to solving the problems of homeostasis mechanism development within the national economic system. The author has studied the genesis of scientific theories, domestic and national approaches to economic development, thus, a new paradigm of studies is grounded. The work also systematizes and generalizes the conceptual toolkit for studying the transformations of national economic system by means of differentiating the systems of notions, principles and functions in their relation to homeostasis. Convergence of neoclassical and alternative paradigms of development is considered in relation to developing economies. The author explains the role of the state and the feasibility of applying substantial and functional elements in state regulation of economic system under transformations. The thesis also generalizes the experience of foreign national economic systems' development which are mostly functioning on the basis of macroeconomic regulation theories. Also, their peculiarities and modifications are determined as well as opportunities for borrowing this experience in application to transformational processes in Ukrainian economy. Components within the concept of homestasis are structured, and their functions within the system of economy's strategic management are explained. The role and the meaning of information and innovations are defined in the context of economic system's homeostasis provision. Institutional grounds for changing the homeostasis concept are outlined in application to studying the foreign national economic systems from the standpoint of hierarchy approach. The author offers her own vision on the concept of national economic system homeostasis along with its components and structural elements. The existing today methods of forecasting the homeostasis mechanism within national economy development are presented, and on their grounds the author formulates the strategic directions for further research in this regard. Exogenous influences on the national economic system are detected and explained in detail so that to ground the homeostatic development model in the context of Eurointegration. The author also determines the potential directions in homeostatic development provision, and this would help to ground and support all further development prospects. Parameters and indicators of national economy's positioning are evaluated taking into account the transformation conditions and cyclical fluctations. The linear paradigm of neoclassical economy is grounded as well as the necessity for transition to new methods of modelling and forecasting of national economic system homestasis. Also, the author suggests an alternative to the existing today methods for modelling and forecasting. Also proved is the necessity to provide and maintain homeostasis of national economic system; theoretical and methodological grounds for its innovative targeting are outlined. The thesis presents the fundamental grounds for a model of national economic system homeostasis along with the structural-logical scheme of organization and regulation of innovation activities in the framework of the model of national economic system homeostasis. A structural mechanism of Ukraine's economy's stabilization is offered along with the well grounded innovative approach to the measures to be taken in this regard.
