Essay

Object: international relations in East Asia in the 30-70-ies of XIX century. Objective: based on analysis of published sources, given the results of studying of problems in the Ukrainian and foreign historiography to investigate attempts of US foothold in the East Asian region in the 30-70-ies of XIX century and to track the main results and consequences of this course for the future development of US global and regional policies. Methods: analysis and synthesis, deduction and induction, generalization, historical and logical analysis, historical and comparative, problem-chronological and systematic. Results: for the first time the influence of politics of Washington in East Asia during the study for further development of US foreign policy strategy in the regional and global level is showed, the reasons for refusal of the USA to establish their own colonial empire in the Pacific in favor of forming a system of informal geopolitical alliance with Great Britain and Japan in the second half of the XIX century is revealed, improved role and place of external and internal factors on the formation process of East Asian course of US in study period, division of history of international relations in East Asia in the 30-70's of XIX century on periods. Scope of application: in the work of government agencies responsible for the implementation of Ukraine's foreign policy, particularly in the US and East Asian areas, activities of researchers on the history of international relations in East Asia and in preparation of courses and special courses on the history of international relations in the new era.
