Object of the study: the features of maintenance of vitamin D, structural and functional state of bone tissue in patients with thyroid pathology. Results: The adequate vitamin D intake was found only in 7.7% of inspected habitants of Carpathian region, and in other cases (92.3 %) there was vitamin D deficiency. Frequency of vitamin D deficiency depends on a residence and increases with the height above a sea level. The levels of total 25(OH)D were significantly decreased in subclinical and overt hypothyroidism groups as compared to control group. Prevalence of osteopenia and osteoporosis was 71.7 % in patients with primary hypothyroidism. In patients with hyperthyroidism change of indexes of bone mineral density educed in 29 (52.7 %) cases, among them osteopenia was in 22 (40 %) and osteoporosis in 7 (12.7 %). The vitamin D contents was significantly decreased in patients with diffuse toxic goiter, that were in the state of sub- and decompensations. There were significant association between 25(OH)D content and antibodies to TSH receptor. The additional setting of vitamin of D results in the significant decline of level of TPO antibodies (-48.1 %) in patients with hypothyroidism. On the whole reduction of level of TPO antibodies on 25 % and patients are anymore attained in 73.1 %. Conception of prevention and treatment of osteoporosis is first reasonable for patients with thyroid pathology.
