Essay

The dissertation is devoted to the solution of the topical problem which is to develop a scientific basis for the creation and operation of the high performance protective water curtains designed for shielding and reducing to a safe level of powerful thermal radiation at workplaces in order to ensure the norms of industrial sanitation and labor protection. The method of mathematical model operation had been used for the complex analysis of processes of formation of water curtains, their interactions with a surrounding medium and a thermal radiation in machine building and metallurgical enterprises, and also at occurrence of fires. Experimental studies have been carried out, which confirm the results of mathematical modeling. The analytical dependencies obtained in the work are used as the basis for new computational methods for designing workplace protection systems from high-power thermal radiations. Developers of protective water curtains have been offered recommendations on improving the methods of calculation, design, production and operation of such systems.
