Essay

The research is devoted to theoretical and methodological foundations of the organizational economic mechanism of pig market formation and development. The paper studies its nature, content and specific features of its formation. The peculiarities of and trends in pig production and consumption in foreign countries are specified. The paper provides a systematic analysis of the national pig market under globalization of economic processes with the assessment of supply and demand for live pigs and the products of their slaughter. The tendency of its infrastructure formation is defined. The international trade directions for its development are determined, considering the analysis done. The study offers a well-developed scientific approach to the implementation of the principles of sustainable development of pig production based on the calculation of the pig number density index per 100 ha of agricultural lands. Moreover, it suggests an environmental tax for agricultural enterprises and farms, determined on the bases of the index, as well as adoption of Technical Regulations on Meat, prediction of a mandatory state environmental expertise of projects in construction of new pig production facilities and pig manure processing in order to foster and ensure an economic and ecological balance in the field.
