The subject is the operational behavior of load-bearing and enclosing structures made of steel cold-formed thin-walled profiles; the goal is assessment of the reliability and design of rational load-bearing and enclosing structures of steel cold-formed thin-walled profiles; methods - finite element method, finite strip method, experimental methods, methods of mathematical statistics and probability theory; novelty - the computational and graphical method for determining the rational cross-section of structures that combine load-bearing and enclosing functions was first represented, the method of estimating the probability of thermal failure of enclosing structures for three thermotechnical indicators was first developed, a method of normalization of the required level of probability of failure-free operation of enclosing structures by the criterion of the reduced resistance to heat transfer was first proposed; the results were objectified in the normative documents of DSTU B V.2.6-189: 2013, addendum No.1 to DBN V.2.6-31: 2006, normative and technical guideline NTP RK 03-01-3.1-2011; the effect of reinforcement of the bearing parts of steel profiled roof decks with onlays and the use of continuous sheets created by overlaying separate sheets on the support was determined; industry - civil engineering
