Essay

The complex analysis of legal, theoretical and applied problems of the theory and practice of establishment and determination of the perpetrator’s identity by means of criminalistics is carried out in the dissertation. Methodological basis as well as the choice of a system of cognitive means aimed at the research of criminalistics theory’s scientific foundations concerning external characteristics and features of the criminal’s personality is determined and justified. The concept of «perpetrator’s identity» has been studied from different perspectives throughout the entire science development, however, there is still no generally accepted definition of this concept that would provide a comprehensive personality description. The initial principles of the integrative criminalistics theory development concerning perpetrator identity’s external features and characteristics, the contents of which are relevant knowledge systems reflecting criminalistics subject’s separate elemen ts that are inseparably linked together creating a new (integral) knowledge. The author's conception of further criminalistic investigation of the perpetrator identity as a summation of his social, physico-biological, psychological qualities and characteristics is formulated and justified.
