Essay

In this thesis for the first time in the national theology and religious studies a comprehensive analysis of the theological and social identification of the Pentecostal movement, the main theological and ecclesiological trajectories of the development of the national Pentecostalism was carried out. The social and religious preconditions, philosophical and theological context and historical and cultural factors of the origin and development of movement, peculiarities of its continental and historical-theological forms were revealed. The multivariate character of the origin of movement in many centers is demonstrated, the reasons for the successful adaptation of the Pentecostal in various contexts are singled out. The analysis revealed that Pentecostalism can be identified through its christological charismatic spirituality, expressed in the quest for meeting God with the pneumatological peculiarities of the movement: prayer in languages, practice of healing, emphasis on miracles and signs, altar type of worship. The characteristics of the movement that are attractive to it are established, in particular: restorationism, verbalization, narrativism, egalitarianism, emphasis on transformation. It is substantiated that the loss of the apocalyptic factor in the Pentecostalism contributed to the resacralization of everyday life and the transition from the individual transformation of a Christian to the concern of social problems and the transformation of creation. On the example of the Ukrainian Pentecostalism, features of the acquisition of the regional movement of theological and social identity in complex socio-political, ideological and religious conditions were demonstrated.
