Essay

The actual problem of radiophysics - development of a new effective method for vector scattering problems on three-dimensional multilayer double -period magnetodilectric structures was solved in the dissertation. The object of the dissertation research was the physical process of scattering of the electromagnetic waves by periodic structures and artificial materials. The purpose of the dissertation was to find and study new physical phenomena and patterns of interaction of electromagnetic fields with those structures and metamaterials. Integral equations of macroscopic electrodynamics and the new method of "integral functional" were used to solve the problems posed in the dissertation. A software package was developed which allows calculating the scattering of electromagnetic waves on a double-periodic structure from different materials. The scientific novelty of the obtained results was determined by the new physical effects investigated in the dissertation. The results can be used in radiophysical instrumentation design in frequency bands from microwave to optical.
