Essay

The thesis analyzes the theoretical and practical issues of constitutional and legal regulation of human rights in Ukraine and compares the provisions of the international legal acts, constitutions of Ukraine and 42 states of continental Europe. It is substantiated that the relevance of the research topic is determined not only by the democratization of the political system, the formation of civil society, deep reforms, but also by the norms in the Constitution of Ukraine that do not fully comply with modern European standards and, thus, affect adversely the law enforcement practice. By preserving its democratic content and prioritizing the principle of human-centeredness a coherent internal and external theoretical and conceptual model of the constitutional and legal regulation of a person’s and citizen’s rights, freedoms and duties of Section II “A Person’s and Citizen’s Rights, Freedoms and Duties” of the Constitution of Ukraine is developed.
