At the theoretical and methodological level, the evolutionary and behavioral concept of ensuring the competitiveness of an enterprise is substantiated, and its categorical and conceptual apparatus is formed. The definition of «innovative and investment ability of the enterprise» is argued. The state of functioning of industrial enterprises is analyzed and the trends of innovative and investment processes in the machine-building industry of Ukraine are determined. The key factors of the influence of the macroeconomic environment on the competitive positions of industrial enterprises are determined. Methodological approach to parametric-rating estimation of economic activity of machine-building enterprises is improved. The relationship of ensuring the competitiveness of an enterprise with its innovative and investment capacity is proved. The main provisions and structural elements of the formation and functioning of the innovative and investment mechanism for ensuring the competitiveness of the enterprise are substantiated. The organizational and economic levers and instruments of influence on the state of functioning of the innovative and investment mechanism for ensuring the competitiveness of the enterprise are formalized. The diagnostics of the competitiveness of industrial enterprises in Ukraine was carried out. The state of their innovative and investment ability and behavioral properties was assessed. A scenario approach to determining trends in the level of competitiveness of machine-building enterprises under the influence of environmental factors has been developed. A methodical approach to the formation of a system for forecasting and monitoring the state of functioning of an innovative and investment mechanism for ensuring the competitiveness of an enterprise is proposed. The organizational and economic principles of the formation of integration industrial blocks of machine-building enterprises have been developed.
