Essay

The thesis is devoted to the experimental and clinical-laboratory substantiation of the pathogenetic concept of prosthetic stomatitis prevention in patients with secondary adentia using removable dental plate prostheses, by developing and implementing new medical and technological methods for their orthopedic treatment. According to the results of retrospective studies, scientific data on the incidence of prosthetic stomatitis among persons using removable dental plate prostheses were added, which was 55.6%. The technology of manufacturing a removable dental plate prosthesis made of polypropylene has been improved and its advantages are proved on the basis of a comparative study of the sanitary-chemical and physic-mechanical characteristics of the prosthesis. The high efficiency of using an improved removable denture in patients with secondary adentia is shown, which is confirmed by a decrease in the frequency of prosthetic stomatitis (by 29-66%), increased masticatory efficiency (by 15-20%), normalization of microbiocenosis, nonspecific resistance (by 20.0-41.7%), an improvement in the functional activity of salivary glands (by 28.6-50.0%), a decrease in the degree of atrophy of the alveolar process of the jaw (by 28.6-64.1%), compared with the use of prostheses made from other materials.
