Essay

The thesis is the 斘rst systematic religious studies of the philosophical foundations of existentialized theology of the late XIX – early XXI centuries. Existential theology is considered in two aspects: as a practice of existential- hermeneutic analysis of the Holy Scripture by R. Bultmann (concept introduced by J. Macquarrie), and as a certain direction of the existentialization of Christian theology, which began with the works of S. Kierkegaard and reached the level of the teachings of H. A. Slaatte and M. Westphal (the concept introduced by S. L. Shevchenko). The philosophical background of the religious-philosophical and theological thinking of S. Kierkegaard, K. Bart, M. Berdyaev, R. Bultmann, J. Wattimo, P. Tillich, W. Hamilton, T. Altizer to the de斘nition and theoretical distinguish of possible common ontological, epistemological and anthropological principles. The probability of the distribution of existential theology on the Kierkegaardian and Heideggerian orientation, the adequacy of the use of the term “existential theology” in determining existentialized theology as an appropriate trend in the development of Christian theological thinking is analyzed.
