legal fundamentals that underlie the combating of environmental crime in Ukraine. The Thesis clarifies the conceptual and categorical array of key concepts comprising the subject matter of the study, makes a long-term criminological analysis of the current status of environmental crime in Ukraine, assesses the latency of specific types of environmental crime which are most common, and identifies the objective and subjective factors of the latency thereof. The factors determining environmental crime are studied, identified and systematized. Typical and specific characteristics of environmental perpetrators are determined and two options of their typology are suggested
