Korzh R. Formation and identification of the information image of a higher education institution in social media on the Internet.

A thesis submitted in fulfilment of the Doctor of Engineering Science degree on specialty 05.13.06 – information technologies. – Kyiv National University of Construction and Architecture of Ministry for Education and Science of Ukraine, Kyiv, 2019. The dissertation thesis is dedicated to solving the problems of the formation and identification of the information image of the higher education institution in the main social media of the Internet, such as social networks and Web forums, reflected in the increase in the number and quality of information content, relevant activities of higher education institutions (HEI), corresponding an increase in the audience of social environments interested in the activity of HEI and its resilience to undesirable effects under the condition of limited resources that may be involved in the HIE in the process of informational activities. The primary task of the research is the methodological and technical issues of organizing a comprehensive information activity of the HEI as a complex organizational structure in the social media of the Internet in order to improve the information image for a long-term perspective. In the dissertation the important scientific problem of developing new methods and means of formation and identification of the information image of institution of higher education in social environments of the Internet is solved for the improvement of quantitative and qualitative indicators of the informational image of HEI and increase of its resistance to undesirable influences. Their implementation in methods and means of organization of information activity of HEI, on the basis of practical implementation in the form of algorithms, which formed the basis of the software complex of management of the infromational activities (IA) of HEI in social media of the Internet, with the provision of scientific substantiation, formalism, predicted efficiency and universality, was contributed. The formal models of online communities and HEI informational image generators have been developed that provide the basis for systematic analysis and formal modeling of aggression in relation to the information image in the educational sphere, which is the basis for constructing effective methods of protection and counteraction to the threats to the IA of the HEI; an integrated general algorithm for protection of the HEI IA from malicious influences, that is based on the formal model of aggression in online communities, and provides a higher level of security of HEI in aggressive social environments on the Internet. New approaches to increasing the efficiency of the processes of formation of information image of HEI and identification of low productivity units based on the system of quantitative indicators of quality of HEI IA and productivity of HEI IA have been proposed, which has made it possible to eliminate significant deficiencies in the existing information image and to increase the overall efficiency of the information activity of the HEI.
