Essay

This thesis contains a theoretical grounding, and a practical solution for the highly relevant scientific medical problem of evidence-based application, and improvement of percutaneous interventional procedures for the treatment of cardiovascular disorders in infants. The work is the first local Ukrainian study devoted to the comprehensive analysis of interventional treatment for congenital heart defects in infants. It aims to reduce infant mortality and improve demographic indicators in Ukraine through the application of scientifically grounded treatment methods. The work based on the study of conventional, new and original percutaneous methods that were used for the treatment of 784 children of the first year of life with common and rare CHD over the period from 2005 to 2017. The concept and the role of diagnostic catheterization and percutaneous treatment for the most common CHD in infants was scientifically grounded based on a performed researches.
