The thesis has been performed with the aim of studying the main features of the internal structure and tension deformed state of fault zones and blocks of the western part of the Ukrainian Shield to determine the stages of its kinematic development occurring in the Neoarchean-Paleoproterozoic, and on this basis, considering the prospects of the region for the search of minerals. The tension deformed state of rocks within the Volyn’, Ros’, Podilsk, Bug, the western part of the Ingul blocks of the Ukrainian Shield, in particular the Bug mining area, Novograd-Volynsky, Uman’, Bohuslav granitoid massifs, Korosten pluton, as well as nine inter-block and inner-block fault zones have been established by the candidate for a degree. The structure and prospects for the ore-bearing capacity of three basite-metabasite massifs of the Bug mining area (Bandurivka, Troyanka and Tarasivka) have been considered on the example of the Tarasivka structure. Their intrusive nature and the metasomatic character of the ring bordering have been established. The example of the Moldovka iron-ore area proves the near fault-shift type of the Moldovka structure and expresses the view of a possible volcano-intrusive type of deposit. The kinematic features of the Zavallya fault zones have been investigated and the geological nature of the Zavallya graphite deposit as an intrafault lens of rocks of hydrothermal-metasomatic origin has been considered in this work. A new important Mankiv phase of fracturing has been established proving the unchanged position of the western and eastern parts of the Ukrainian shield, one relative to another in the interval of 2,04–2,05 billion years ago. Key words: deformations, stress fields, fault zones, structural and texture elements of rocks, areas of clamping, tectonophysics, geodynamics, Ukrainian shield, megablocks, suture zones, mineral deposits.
