The author of the dissertation has presented theoretical generalization and a new solution to the scientific problem, which consists in determining the essence and revealing the features of administrative and legal provision of control over the activities of courts (judges) in Ukraine and elaborating an appropriate concept on this basis. The legal status of the courts in the system of state agencies has been clarified and the peculiarities of their activity as an object of control have been revealed. The features of control as a way of ensuring rule of law in the activity of courts (judges) have been determined. The system of principles of control over the activities of courts (judges) and its legal principles, the place of administrative and legal regulation among them have been characterized. The author has established the tasks and functions of control over the activities of courts (judges), its subject matter and boundaries, the system of subjects exercising it, administrative forms and methods of control over the activities of courts (judges). The features of administrative procedures of control over the activities of courts (judges) have been generalized. The classification of control over the activities of courts (judges) has been suggested. International experience of control over the activities of courts (judges) has been characterized; the possibilities of its application in Ukraine have been offered. The perspective directions for improving administrative legislation regulating control over the activities of courts (judges) have been determined. The criteria for evaluating the effectiveness of control over the activities of courts (judges) have been systematized. The organizational principles of control over the activities of courts (judges) have been characterized.
