This dissertation deals with theoretical and methodological substantiation, development and experimental check of the efficiency of future elementary school teachers’ professional training system on the basis of folk decorative and applied arts.
The object of research is the professional training of future elementary school teachers in higher education pedagogical institutions.
The purpose of the research is to create and theoretically-methodologically substantiate the system of professional training of future elementary school teachers on the basis of folk decorative and applied arts.
The scientific novelty of the research is that for the first time:
– the concept of professional training of future elementary school teachers was developed based on the principles of folk decorative and applied arts at different levels of generalization and concretization – methodological (synthesis of culture-related, philosophical, general scientific and branch-specific approaches), theoretical (complex of output notions and categories, definitions and theories), and technological (applied component of the system that ensures its efficiency in the modern conditions with the account of the New Ukrainian School ideas in the elementary school);
– the pedagogical model of the system of professional training of future elementary school teachers was developed based on the principles of folk decorative and applied arts, which contains outcome-oriented, conceptual, content-related, procedural, evaluative and diagnostics-oriented and controlling-regulatory components;
– organizational-pedagogical conditions have been justified for effective functioning of future elementary school teachers’ professional training system on the basis of folk decorative and applied arts (formation of students' aspiration for the knowledge of ethno-historical, spiritual and cultural heritage, embodied in works of folk decorative and applied arts, setting up of creative cultural and educational environment of professional training on the basis of folk and decorative arts, continuity of study of arts- and labour-related disciplines at all levels of training students in higher education institutions, systematic involvement of students in extra-curricular educational activities based on folk and decorative arts);
– the structure and content of the professional training of future elementary school teachers has been determined based on the principles of folk decorative and applied arts, which is ensured by continuity of studying disciplines at different levels of higher education, as well as by pedagogically-expedient interdisciplinary connections between them;
– the indicators, criteria and levels of professional readiness of future teachers for organization of educational process in the elementary school on the basis of folk decorative and applied arts.
The essence and significance of arts- and labour-related training of elementary school pupils on the basis of folk decorative and applied arts have been studied, and socio-pedagogical conditions and prospects for improving professional training of future elementary school teachers have been found out.
The research work specifies the content of the concepts of «arts- and labour-related activity of elementary school children», «cultural and educational environment at a pedagogical higher education institution», «future elementary school teachers` professional training system on the basis of folk decorative and applied arts», «readiness of future elementary school teacher for professional activity on the principles of folk decorative and applied arts».
The research work further develops: some issues of the methodology of training, education and development of the personality as conditioned by the need to take into account students’ specific psychological, pedagogical and didactic readiness to organize the educational process on the basis of folk decorative and applied arts at the elementary school; methodological approaches to the organization of independent arts- and labour-related activity by means of modern digital technologies.
The practical significance of the results of this research incorporates the development and implementation of methodology into the higher education institutions` educational process to train future elementary school teachers via comprehensive use of traditional and innovative methods, active and interactive modes of educational activity, integration of studies and creativity during in-class training and extracurricular individual activities, methodological support of the system of professional training of future elementary school teachers on the basis of folk decorative and applied arts.
