In the dissertation the nature and peculiarities of administrative and legal regulation in the sphere of settlement improvement are investigated, the historical and legal characteristic of regulation in this sphere is made. Regulatory principles of administrative and legal regulation in the sphere of urban settlements improvement are considered, the system and administrative and legal status of the subjects of relations in this sphere are specified. The administrative and legal regulation of the rational use of land and territory of the settlement as a component of the settlement improvement is considered. The modern problems of administrative and legal regulation of sanitary purification of the territory of the settlement and the management of household waste have been investigated. Legal bases of drainage and landscaping of the territory of the settlement for the needs of improvement have been clarified. The administrative and legal regulation of noise reduction as a component of improvement is considered. The administrative and legal regulation of placement of small architectural forms and outdoor advertising as elements of improvement is investigated.
