The dissertation is devoted to the development of the concept of increasing the operational characteristics of civil aircraft units by special methods of powder metallurgy (PM). It contains scientific basics of a general methodology for evaluating the effectiveness of PM methods for use in aircraft unit designs; criterion evaluation of the prospects of expanding the use of sintered powder aluminum-based and titanium-based materials; criterion evaluation of the effectiveness of ion-plasma and gas-thermal powder coatings; analysis of the effectiveness of the use of powder materials at friction units; bases of engineering forecasting of effective volumes of use of PM materials in aircraft structures. The classification schemes of the main types of antifriction and friction materials composites were synthesized, and the block-diagram of the formation of their basic operational characteristics has been developed. The analysis of the possibilities of increasing the operational characteristics of parts with protective gas-thermal powder coatings is carried out.
