Essay

The dissertation is a theoretical and experimental research on the formation of social competencess of humanitarian students at classical universities by means of game technologies. The paper contains a conceptual bases for the formation of social competences of students by means of game technologies. It determines the criteria and indicators of the levels of social competence formation of students and develops appropriate diagnostic tools. Object of the research: the process of educating humanitarian students of classical universities. Scope of the research: the formation of their social competences through game technologies. Aim of the research: to develop, substantiate and experimentally test the didactic system of forming social competences of humanitarian students of classical universities by means of game technologies. Methods of the research: the theoretical - analysis and summarization of modern literature to develop and apply in the educational process the author's didactic system of formation of social competences; synthesis and modelling to summarise information about the object of study; the empirical - questionnaires, testing, psychological and pedagogical observation to diagnose the level of formation of social competences; interviews, surveys, pedagogical testing and expert assessment to determine the most important indicators of the formation of students' social competences. The pedagogical experiment was conducted to test the hypothesis, while the mathematical statistics methods were used to process the experimental data. Academic novelty of the gained results is that this is the first time when: the author grounded for the first time a conceptual bases for the formation of social competences of students by means of game technologies (incl. conceptual ideas, scientific approaches and principles which became the basis for development and maintenance of the efficiency of didactic system). The didactic system was created at the theoretical level and tested by means of a pedagogical experiment, which is a combination of the following sections: - the target (the purpose is the formation of students’ social competences by means of game technologies and the system of subordinate goals), conceptual (basic provisions of the system, personality, personality and personality), general didactic and specific principles of the study process); - the content-technological (describes and forms the components of social competences of students of humanities: motivational-outlook, cognitive, activity-operational, personality-reflection; determines the most effective game technologies; - the control and evaluation (criteria, indicators, social competence level of students of humanities and the result of the research it) blocks. The paper also does the following: - develops a modified variant of combining the types of activities of humanitarian students of classical universities (the educational, self-educational, scientific-research, practical); - specifies the motivational, semantic, procedural, personality-evaluation criteria, indicators and diagnostic apparatus necessary for determining the levels of social competence of humanitarian students by means of game technologies. The practical significance of the obtained results is in the development and implementation in the educational process of humanitarian students of classical universities of the didactic and methodological support of the process of formation of their social competences by means of game technologies in the study of subjects of psychological and pedagogical direction, represented by work plans for courses taught, teaching aids, and methodological recommendations for special courses (changes were made to the variational part of the syllabus for the preparation of humanitarian students of the following specialties in specialization 03 (humanities): 035 - philology, 032 - history and archeology, 033 - philosophy, 034 - cultural studies). The author modified work plans of the following study disciplines: “Pedagogy”, “Basics of Pedagogy”, “Pedagogy and Methodology of Educational Work”, “Fundamentals of Pedagogy and Methods of Educational Work”, “Culture of Educational Communication”, “Pedagogy of Higher School”, “Pedagogy and Psychology of Higher School”. The author published the monograph and developed and implemented the special course “Pedagogical Innovation”.
