Essay

The Thesis presents the new scientifically substantiated results that summarize and provide solution of the actual scientific and technical problem: theoretical and experimental modeling and prediction of the main factors which affect structure formation and properties of chromium-containing alloys and coatings. This study is applicable for correction of composition, manufacturing process and production operations under the difficult conditions of friction and wear. On the basis of the studies presented in my Thesis, the general complex approach of the influence estimation of various factors of production on the structure formation and chromium-containing alloys properties is offered. This approach consists in combination of modern research methods with newly developed methods of optical-mathematical estimation of phase composition, which describe processes of diffusion, fragments density, and are based on the estimates of change of the system energy state. The new approaches to theoretical estimation of the structure formation of chromium-containing alloys and coatings have been developed, including specification of phases combinations (conventional colors) and absolute values of the Laplacian matrix (image fragment), through which we have studied the heterogeneity and dispersion of the formed phases, as well as structural anisotropy that has appeared during the production and service.
