Matkovskyy P. Modernization of agricultural enterprises: theory, methodology, practice

A systematic study of the theoretical and practical foundations of modernization of agricultural enterprises is conducted. The process is considered from the viewpoint of content and form. The imperatives for the institutional support of the modernization processes in the enterprises of the agrarian sector of the economy are determined. The key determinants of the modernization of agricultural enterprises are systematized. They are institutional, human resources, innovation, and investment support. The forecast of the main available statistical indicators of the modernization of agricultural enterprises is compiled. It includes energy capacity, average accounting number of employees, capital investments, and mineral fertilizers per 1 ha of land and their systematic impact on the results of activity (gross production). Approval of agro holdings in domestic crop production is determined after establishing significant differences between the volumes of used land by the average household of economically developed countries of the European Union and Ukraine. The introduction of the socio-economic mechanism of modernization of agricultural enterprises based on the combination of digital technologies and cooperative relations is suggested. The mechanism is systematically oriented to eliminate the intermediary between the producer and the end consumer, contributes to overcoming the information, financial, marketing vacuum in the processes of agricultural organic production and logistics.
