The concept and features of public administration as an administrative and legal category have been defined. Specific features of physical education and sports as an object of public administration have been revealed. The principles of public administration in the field of physical education and sports have been established. The author has provided characteristics of legal regulation of public administration in the sphere of physical education and sports in Ukraine. The main modern tasks and functions of public administration in the field of physical education and sports have been distinguished. The structure of the public administration system in the field of physical education and sports has been formed from the position of subjective and objective composition. The forms and methods of public administration in the field of physical education and sports have been outlined.
