Object: the process of functioning and innovative development of the agricultural sector in Ukraine. Purpose development of theoretical and methodological provisions, methodological bases and scientific and practical recommendations for institutional support of the functioning of the agricultural sector in terms of its innovative development. Methods: methods of abstraction, generalization, induction, deduction, analysis, synthesis; historical method; method of multidimensional logic; method of chain substitutions; method of statistical analysis; graphic method; process approach; value-oriented, program-target methods and method of situational analysis; method of hierarchies. It is offered: a structural and functional model of improving the state policy of innovative development of the agricultural sector is developed; proposed components of a long-term strategy to ensure the innovative development of the agricultural sector in Ukraine; a mechanism of institutional support for the functioning of the agricultural sector on the basis of its innovative development has been developed.
