The dissertation is devoted to the substantiation of theoretical, conceptual and
methodological bases of managing the mechanism of economic security of agrarian sector.
Based on the results of a thorough analysis of economic security evolution, its
theoretical foundations are generalized, scientific ideas about its essence and significance for
management practice of the agricultural sector are deepened in the dissertation work. It is
stated that economic security has now actually become a scientific and practical direction. It
is substantiated that the economic security of the agricultural sector is an important
component of economic security of the state and provides a state of the system (as a whole or
individual entities), which under conditions of permanent influence of external and internal
factors ensures the stability of functioning and progressive developing the agricultural sector
that creates conditions for preservation and further reproduction of the resource potential,
guarantees food security, promotes rural development.
The expediency of applying a systematic approach to the interpretation of the essence
of economic security of the agricultural sector is substantiated. The model of the economic
security system from the standpoint of a set of structural elements is formed. Methodological
approaches to the study of the economic security system are outlined, that allowed to form a
sequence of studying the economic security system of the agricultural sector, the compliance
with which is a reliable methodological foundation and provides solutions of scientific
problems. It is determined that the basic principles of economic security of the agricultural
sector are: legality; economic feasibility; continuity; coordination; professionalism;
combination of preventive and reactive measures; adaptability; timeliness and adequacy of
measures; balance of economic interests.
It is determined that the mechanism of economic security is a component of the
economic security system, it is a set of legally regulated methods, measures, tools, levers,
which in interaction ensure the implementation of economic security strategy. The model of
economic security mechanism of the agrarian sector is proposed, that allows to act in the
following three areas: the permanent implementation of preventive measures; the
development of an algorithm for responding to identified threats and risks; the ability to
make operational decisions as to the actions in unforeseen situations. The essence of
destabilizing factors of economic security, which are threat, risk and danger, is investigated.
The current state of the agricultural sector as a component of the national economy is
analyzed. The method of expert assessment of the impact of certain factors on the state of
economic security of agricultural enterprises is developed, which meets the following
requirements: the possibility to obtain reliable results of expert surveys; the simplicity of use;
the clarity and logic of presenting material; the low resource consumption; the possibility of
automated data processing with the help of computer devices; the efficiency (obtaining the
results of the survey in a short time without losing their reliability); the possibility of using
both quantitative and qualitative assessments by experts.
By the results of the expert assessment, the model of regulating the level of economic
security in terms of separate functional components is formed, which allows to determine the
degree of influence of regulatory entities on individual components of economic security. By
the results of the expert assessment, the rating of external and internal threats to economic
security is compiled in order to identify and study the most significant ones. The economic

system of comprehensive analysis and comprehensive monitoring of threats to economic
security, as well as the introduction of a system of strategic measures in the agricultural
economy, which would be adequate to modern economic conditions, is the development and

Theoretical and methodological bases of forming the model of accounting and analytical
maintenance of management by the mechanism of economic security of agrarian sector are
developed. The information support is an important component of the management of the
mechanism of economic security of the agrarian sector.
Conceptual bases of forming the strategy of economic security development of
agrarian sector of Ukraine are substantiated. The obtained research results generally confirm
the need to form a unified approach to the management of the mechanism of economic
security of the agricultural sector.
