The dissertation is devoted to the complex and thorough analysis of the problems of social protection of women in Ukraine. The paper clarifies the specifics of the legal nature and content of social protection for women. The advantages and disadvantages of the current state of legal regulation of social protection of women in Ukraine are revealed. The essence of the purpose, tasks, functions, guarantees and principles of social protection of women's rights is analyzed. The scientific interpretation and content of women's social rights are derived. Common and distinctive features in conducting a comparative legal analysis of social protection of women and men in Ukraine are identified. The elements of the mechanism of realization of the right to social protection of women in Ukraine, the mechanism of ensuring the right to social protection of women and the mechanism of protection of social rights of women are detailed. Theoretical and practical problems of social protection of women in Ukraine are studied and the ways of their solution are singled out. Conceptual bases of improvement of social protection of women in Ukraine are formulated.
