In the dissertation for the first time in historical science the integral and conceptual analysis of modern Ukrainian historiographical process of knowledge increasing about national and cultural revival of Ukraine of the second half of the 19th – the first third of the 20th century has been made. Conditions, stages, tendencies, regularities and features of its scientific understanding in modern Ukrainian historiography have been revealed. Gaps in historical knowledge of this period have been clarified and prospects for further scientific and historical research have been outlined. The modern historiography of Ukrainian national and cultural revival is presented in five conceptual dimensions, in particular, historians’ approaches to the conceptual and categorical interpretation of the phenomenon of national and cultural revival are characterized; the historiography of the preconditions, factors and content of the rise of the national revival in the second half of the 19th century is analyzed, historians’ views on its socio-political and socio-cultural basis are highlighted; modern researches of scientific-historical, educational and cultural foundation of the rise of the Ukrainian national life is studied; the reflection in the latest historiography of the mental dimension of Ukrainian national and cultural revival is considered, historians’ understanding of the role of archetypes, cultural-historical and mental traumas in achieving the key tasks of the national revival is highlighted; the historiography of its spiritual and religious component is revealed.
