The urgency of the problem of forming the emotional intelligence of future teachers of music at the university is caused by social significance of spiritual and moral development of society, the need to ensure the quality of the formation of the spirituality of youth, the necessity to modernize the system of higher music and pedagogical education in the context of world educational trends, integration processes into the international cultural and educational community, the conceptual foundations of the New Ukrainian School. In the dissertation for the first time the integral, scientific, interdisciplinary analysis of a problem of formation of emotional intelligence of future teachers of musical art at university is carried out. The condition of the researched problem in the pedagogical theory and practical activity of higher education institutions is clarified; a historical and philosophical analysis of the formation and development of the concept of "emotional intelligence" in the context of covering the emotional and intellectual discourse of the history of world music; the concept of research of a problem of formation of emotional intelligence of future teachers of musical art at university, which is based on bases of polyparadigmatic, interdisciplinary and system approaches is developed; the essence and structure of emotional intelligence of a teacher of music art are revealed, its features and criteria of formation are singled out; the concept and model of formation of emotional intelligence of future teachers of music art in the process of professional training are developed; organizational and methodological principles of formation of emotional intelligence of future teachers of music in the process of professional training are substantiated, developed and experimentally tested; educational and methodological support for the formation of emotional intelligence of future teachers of music in the process of professional training at the university was created. This research was made using a set of methods of a scientific research(theoretical, empirical, mathematical) and is based on: conceptual provisions of the theory of cognition; philosophical ideas about nature, the essence of ahuman, his development, self-development and self-improvement; scientific provisions of pedagogical science on the human-centred vector of strategic development of the national education in Ukraine, modernization of the system of higher music and pedagogical education in the conditions of world civilizational transformations and progressive tendencies of educational practice, training of pedagogical workers of the new generation; philosophical and educational paradigms of development of higher education in the context of global trends of humanization, democratization, integration; theoretical provisions concerning the content, forms and methods of professional training of teachers of artistic specialties. The dissertation analyses the problem of formation of emotional intelligence of future music teachers in pedagogical theory and practical activity of higher educational institutions of Ukraine and abroad. The theoretical significance of the study is that it reveals the essence of the concept of "emotional intelligence of a music teacher", which is understood as a personal, professionally significant, integral quality of a specialist, which reflects personal-introversion and interpersonal-extraversion ability: to perceive, analyse and interpret a musical work as emotional information about one's own, inner emotional and life experiences communicated by the composer in the process of non-verbal communication; understand and control both one's own emotional experiences and the emotional experiences of others, using the received emotional information to regulate interpersonal interaction, giving it a positive-optimistic direction; it theoretically substantiated components of the structure of emotional intelligence of music teachers, model blocks and criterion-evaluation base of professional training of future music teachers concerning formation of emotional intelligence. The methods of formation of emotional intelligence of future teachers of music art are classified. Research materials can be used by teachers of higher educational institutions to develop curricula, educational and learning manuals, educational complexes, methodical recommendations on professional disciplines, pedagogical practice, research work of students with major in: 014 Secondary education (Music art), 014 Secondary education (Fine arts), 012 Pre-school education, 013 Primary education, 053 Psychology, 231 Social work, 024 Choreography, as well as students, teachers of secondary schools and teachers of the system of advanced training of teachers
